QPS
Australia is a Quality and Productivity Consulting organization
(with an Environmental and OHS Division: ENOHS Australia).
It commenced operations in March 1998 with assignments in Statistical
Process Control. A year later it expanded its activities to
cover ISO 9000 and QS 9000 (now superseded by ISO/TS
16949) and its consulting services now also cover Environmental
Standards (ISO 14000), Health and Safety Standards (AS/NZS
4801 and Safety Map) and Risk Management. We have the
capability related to undertaking a vast range of management systems

additional details.

Our Principal Consultant Profile
QPS Principal Consultant Kas Mehra has extensive management
and senior management experience. His background covers Production
Management, Quality Management, Environmental Management, Risk Management,
Product and Process Development Management, Product and Process Development
Engineering and Industrial Engineering, in manufacturing and process
industries, both in Australia and overseas.
He has qualifications
to Masters Degree level in Engineering, a Postgraduate Diploma in
Industrial Management, a Certificate III in Business Excellence
and Lead Auditor qualifications in Quality, Environment and OH&S
Management Systems.
He is a Chartered Professional Engineer, a Member of the Institution
of Engineers Australia, a Fellow of the Quality Society of Australia
and an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management.
Before founding QPS, Kas for a number
of years was Quality Manager with Australian Defence Industries
Limited (ADI), Engineering, in Melbourne and Bendigo, covering up
to three sites. ADI Limited, Engineering, is a high technology,
high precision, medium to heavy engineering company, manufacturing
components for frigates, submarines, the aerospace industry, the
mining sector, the power generation sector, etc., just to name a
few. It also manufactures special purpose vehicles for Defence.
In ADI, Kas for the most part was responsible for
Quality Systems Certifications /Re-certifications and for the Quality
Planning, Quality Assurance, and NATA approved Metallurgical and
Chemical Laboratories functions. During the later part he was also
responsible for the Environmental and Risk Management.
Prior to ADI, Kas held positions in Kodak Australasia
Pty Ltd at Melbourne manufacturing plant, in technical management,
production management and quality management functions. For four
and a half years he managed plastics components production (operating
3 shifts, & 7 days a week). He managed plastics and metal products
quality and product and process development. He was involved in
the introduction of TQM. Kodak Australasia was one of the pioneers
of TQM in Australia and won several quality awards, including the
inaugural National Quality Award.
Before this, he managed production function of a
semiconductor devices manufacturing subsidiary of a US company overseas
and worked as an Industrial Engineer for a complex of industries
manufacturing paper, sugar, cement, and chemicals.
